Fisher Capital Review

Short on time? The essentials

  • Legal name on the BBB profile is Fisher Liberty Gold, with Fisher Capital LLC listed as an alternate business name. The same profile is what fishercapitalgroup.com links to when a visitor clicks the BBB seal on the About page.
  • Business start date on BBB is December 14, 2007. BBB reports 17 years in business as of July 2026. BBB accreditation began November 15, 2021.
  • BBB rating is NR, or Not Rated. Not Rated is a status BBB uses when it has decided that the available information does not support a letter grade at this time. It is not the same thing as an A+ or an F.
  • BBB shows 6 total closed complaints in the past three years, 5 of them closed in the past twelve months. The 5 customer reviews on BBB average 2 out of 5 stars. Verified July 2026 on bbb.org.
  • Trustpilot lists the same business as Fisher Liberty Gold with a trust score of 4.6 and 183 reviews. Verified July 2026 on trustpilot.com.
  • Corporate address is 9595 Wilshire Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90212. A second address at 2121 Avenue of the Stars, Century City, CA 90067 is also listed on the contact page. Both phones route through 800-617-5373 and (800) 878-9348.
  • The public site does not publish a Gold IRA account minimum, a setup fee, an annual custodian fee, a storage fee, or the name of the self-directed IRA custodian used. Every number and every partner name needs to be requested in writing before a wire is sent.
  • There is no Texas office, no Texas storage arrangement disclosed on Fisher Capital's public pages, and no mention of the Texas Bullion Depository. For a Texas resident, everything reachable through Fisher Capital would be arranged out of California.
On this page

This review is written for a national reader who is weighing Fisher Capital as the dealer behind a self-directed precious metals IRA. It carries an added Texas section because Harry's Coins publishes from a Texas editorial angle. Every fact below is pulled from Fisher Capital's own public pages, the live Better Business Bureau profile the company links to, or Trustpilot. Anything the company does not disclose is called out plainly rather than filled in with a guess.

Nobody can predict where metal prices will go, and a gold IRA is not right for every saver. The point of this page is to give a fair, sourced picture of what a shopper can and cannot verify about Fisher Capital before signing.

The Fisher Capital and Fisher Liberty Gold name split

The single most confusing thing about vetting this dealer is the split between two brand names. The website at fishercapitalgroup.com is titled Fisher Capital in every meta tag and every page heading. The About page says the company was "founded with the objective of helping as many families as possible safeguard their retirement savings" (source: fishercapitalgroup.com, checked July 2026).

The BBB seal on the About page then links to a profile whose legal name is Fisher Liberty Gold, not Fisher Capital. The BBB profile lists Fisher Capital LLC as an alternate business name. Trustpilot uses Fisher Liberty Gold as the primary listing title as well. The two brands share the same phone number, the same street address, and the same review pool.

This kind of split is not automatically a problem. Many precious metals dealers operate under a DBA or a rebrand while keeping legacy customer accounts under the original name. It does mean a shopper who searches only for "Fisher Capital reviews" will miss most of the Trustpilot volume, and a shopper who searches only for "Fisher Liberty Gold" will miss the marketing pages. Both names need to be checked when you run due diligence.

The BBB record and why Not Rated matters

The BBB profile at bbb.org/us/ca/los-angeles/profile/bullion-coin-dealers/fisher-liberty-gold-1216-1528204 is the primary trust file for this business. As of the July 2026 check, four numbers sit on that profile.

The BBB rating is displayed as NR, meaning Not Rated. BBB uses Not Rated when it has decided the available information does not support a letter grade at the time. Not Rated is not the same as an F, and it is not the same as an A+. It is a hold status while BBB reviews the file.

The accreditation status is separate from the rating. Fisher Liberty Gold has been an accredited business on BBB since November 15, 2021. Accreditation and rating are two different fields on the profile, and a Not Rated business can still be accredited.

The complaint volume is small in absolute numbers but concentrated in time. BBB reports 6 total closed complaints across the last three years and 5 of those closed in the last twelve months. That means most of the visible complaint history is recent, not historical. The customer review pool on BBB is 5 reviews with a 2 out of 5 average, which reads as sharply negative on a small base.

The review platform split: BBB versus Trustpilot

Fisher Capital's public review picture depends on which platform you look at. The gap between the two is wide enough that a shopper should not stop at one.

Trustpilot rates the same business at 4.6 out of 5 from 183 reviews as of the July 2026 check. That trust score is what fishercapitalgroup.com displays in its site footer widget. The BBB pool is 5 customer reviews averaging 2 out of 5, plus 6 closed complaints. The chart below shows the raw counts side by side.

Bar chart comparing Fisher Capital's public review footprint across two platforms: on the Better Business Bureau profile, 5 customer reviews with a 2 out of 5 average star rating and 6 closed complaints in the last three years including 5 in the past twelve months; on Trustpilot, 183 customer reviews with a 4.6 out of 5 trust score. BBB rating is Not Rated. Both figures were pulled directly from the two live profiles in July 2026.
Fisher Capital's public review footprint is split: a small BBB pool with a 2-star average and 5 complaints in the last twelve months, and a much larger Trustpilot pool near 4.6. Numbers from bbb.org and trustpilot.com, checked July 2026.

Neither platform tells the whole story on its own. Trustpilot is open review collection with no complaint mechanism. BBB is complaint-focused with a smaller review sample. A shopper should read both pools, and specifically should read the recent BBB complaints, because that is where the 5 in the last twelve months are concentrated.

What Fisher Capital sells and how the process works

Fisher Capital sells physical gold and silver bullion in two lanes. The first is the precious metals IRA, where IRS-approved coins and bars are held at a depository under a self-directed custodian. The second is direct retail purchase of gold and silver outside the IRA (source: fishercapitalgroup.com/precious-metals-ira and fishercapitalgroup.com/buy-gold-silver, both checked July 2026).

The IRA lane is the one this review focuses on, because the tax wrapper is what makes a dealer competitive against a taxable brokerage. The direct retail lane is straight bullion sale, not subject to IRS custody or purity rules the same way.

The company describes itself on the About page as "one of the nation's fastest growing precious metals companies" and points to sponsorship of Wounded Warrior Project since 2003. The sitemap also includes press pages naming Fisher Capital as a 2023 sponsor of the Turning Point Action Conference in West Palm Beach. Both are marketing signals about the audience the firm targets rather than measurable trust signals.

The fee and minimum opacity on the public site

This is the section where the honest answer diverges from the sales pitch. Fisher Capital's home page, About page, contact page, and Precious Metals IRA page do not list a single dollar amount for any of the four cost lines a Gold IRA carries.

The four lines are the setup fee at account opening, the annual custodian fee, the annual storage and insurance fee at the depository, and the dealer spread. The spread is the gap between spot metal price and the price at which the coin or bar sells. Every self-directed precious metals IRA carries all four, whether or not the dealer publishes them.

The site markets a "free IRA kit" and a "free consultation". It does not publish an account minimum, a setup fee, an annual custodian fee, a storage fee, or a written spread policy on IRS-approved coins. The absence of numbers is not proof of high fees. It does mean a shopper cannot compare Fisher Capital on paper against a dealer that publishes numbers, and needs to extract every figure verbally on the first specialist call.

Use the calculator below to see how a plausible flat recurring fee behaves on your rollover size. The values are illustrative and do not represent Fisher Capital's actual charges.

Texas gold IRA fee-drag calculator

Texas gold IRAs charge mostly flat dollar fees (setup, annual custodian, storage). Flat fees take a much bigger bite out of a small account than a large one. Enter your numbers to see the drag.

Estimate only. Fee amounts vary by provider and are often not published; enter figures you confirm in writing. This tool ignores metal price changes and the dealer spread, which also affect returns. Not financial advice.

The unnamed custodian question

A precious metals IRA is a self-directed IRA. Under IRC 408(a)(2), the account itself must be held by a bank, credit union, or approved non-bank trustee. The dealer is not the custodian. Which trustee holds the account determines the annual custodian fee, the wire transfer fees, and the process for future contributions or distributions.

Fisher Capital's public pages do not name that trustee. There is no mention of Equity Trust, STRATA Trust, Kingdom Trust, GoldStar, or any other self-directed IRA custodian on the site pages we captured in July 2026. The company describes helping clients "set up" the account, which is a dealer-side role, without saying who signs the custodial agreement.

This matters because the custodian is a party to your account, not the dealer. If Fisher Capital were ever unable to service the account, the custodian is who still holds it. A shopper should not sign paperwork without knowing that trustee's name, its own BBB record, and its published fee schedule.

How Fisher Capital serves Texas investors

This is the section a Texas reader needs the most, and it is the section where Fisher Capital gives the least. Nothing on the public pages we captured in July 2026 mentions Texas, Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, or the state-owned Texas Bullion Depository in Leander.

Fisher Capital's disclosed addresses are 9595 Wilshire Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90212, and 2121 Avenue of the Stars, Century City, CA 90067. There is no Texas office, no Texas storage arrangement, and no Texas-specific tax note. Every phone call would route to a California specialist.

A Texas resident can still open a self-directed IRA held by an out-of-state custodian and stored at an out-of-state depository. Texas has no state income tax, so the tax treatment of a Traditional or Roth IRA distribution depends on federal rules only. That state-tax gap does not require an in-state dealer.

What a Texas investor loses by choosing an out-of-state dealer with no Texas footprint is optionality. The state-owned Texas Bullion Depository at 2 Texas Bullion Way, Leander, TX 78641, only accepts deposits routed through an approved partner. Fisher Capital is not listed as one of those partners on the depository's public directory as of the July 2026 check (source: texasbulliondepository.gov).

If in-state storage matters to you, ask Fisher Capital in writing whether it can route the metal there. Get the answer before wiring funds.

Regulatory footprint and public filings

SEC EDGAR full-text search returns zero filings for the phrases "Fisher Capital LLC" or "Fisher Liberty Gold" as a bullion dealer as of the July 2026 check (source: efts.sec.gov). That result is consistent with a privately held dealer that has never issued securities and is not required to file with the SEC.

The CFTC BASIC lookup does not return a match for Fisher Capital LLC or Fisher Liberty Gold as a registered futures commission merchant, introducing broker, or commodity trading advisor (source: cftc.gov, checked July 2026). A physical bullion dealer that only sells for cash or IRA delivery does not have to register with the CFTC, so a no-match result is neither exculpatory nor damning on its own.

Harry's Coins does not have access to non-public regulator databases, and we do not claim Fisher Capital has any specific formal government action against it. If you find one during your own due diligence, cite the enforcement page directly and consult a lawyer before signing.

How to vet Fisher Capital before you sign

Because most of the numbers are not public, most of the vetting happens on the phone. The steps below are what a careful shopper should do in order, before wiring funds.

  1. Read the full BBB profile at bbb.org for Fisher Liberty Gold. Open each of the 5 closed complaints from the past twelve months and read the dealer response and the customer's rebuttal.
  2. Read the recent negative Trustpilot reviews, not just the aggregate score. Look for repeat patterns on delivery timing, spread on coins, and buyback pricing when a customer asked to liquidate.
  3. Call 800-617-5373 and ask for a written fee schedule listing setup fee, annual custodian fee, annual storage and insurance fee, and dealer spread on the specific coins the specialist recommends.
  4. Ask by name which self-directed custodian will hold the account. Get the custodian's name in writing, then look up its BBB record and its own published fee schedule before you sign the custodial agreement.
  5. Ask which depository will hold the metal. Get the depository name, city, and segregated versus commingled storage terms in writing.
  6. Compare the resulting written package against at least one dealer that publishes numbers on its site, so you have a paper benchmark for whether the Fisher Capital offer is competitive.

Worked example: a $75,000 Texas rollover

Worked example

Assume a 62-year-old Texas resident with a $75,000 traditional 401(k) balance from a former employer. She wants to move the balance into a self-directed IRA and hold physical gold. Texas charges no state income tax on IRA distributions.

Assume a plausible flat recurring fee of $225 per year, covering annual custodian plus annual storage. That is inside the common industry band, though Fisher Capital does not publish the actual number. On $75,000, $225 per year is a 0.30 percent recurring drag before any dealer spread.

Assume a 5 percent dealer spread on IRS-approved coins at purchase. On a $75,000 buy, that is $3,750 of embedded cost baked into the initial buy price. The dealer spread is the number Fisher Capital's public pages do not disclose and the one that most affects the total cost picture.

Under those assumptions, the first-year total drag lands near $3,975, or roughly 5.3 percent of the rollover value. The dealer spread dominates the annual fee. That is the reverse of the fee-focused conversation most sales calls open with, and it is why the written spread policy needs to come out of Fisher Capital before you sign anything.

Balanced pros and cons

In favor of Fisher Capital

  • Seventeen years in business per BBB, with an accredited status since November 2021.
  • Trustpilot pool of 183 reviews at a 4.6 average is large enough to read patterns from.
  • Corporate address is verifiable in Beverly Hills, and two named phone lines route to the sales floor.
  • Two product lanes, IRA and direct retail bullion, give a shopper a way to test the sales process at a smaller ticket first.

Reasons to slow down

  • BBB rating is NR, and 5 of the 6 recent closed complaints landed in the past twelve months.
  • BBB customer review pool averages 2 out of 5 stars, at odds with the Trustpilot average.
  • Public site does not publish an account minimum, setup fee, annual custodian fee, storage fee, or dealer spread.
  • The self-directed IRA custodian is not named on any public page, so the trustee behind your account is unknown until the sales call.
  • Zero Texas presence disclosed. No mention of the Texas Bullion Depository or any in-state office.
  • Brand identity is split between Fisher Capital, Fisher Capital LLC, and Fisher Liberty Gold across the website, BBB profile, and Trustpilot.

Verdict: who Fisher Capital fits, who it does not

Who this dealer fits

Fisher Capital is a plausible option for a national shopper who is comfortable getting every number verbally. That shopper also has to be willing to document the terms in writing after the call, and cannot need a Texas office or Texas Bullion Depository storage. A Trustpilot pool near 4.6 gives some public reassurance, and 17 years of operation is not a fly-by-night footprint.

Fisher Capital is a poor fit for three separate reader profiles. It fails the shopper who wants written published fees before the first call. It fails the Texas resident who wants in-state storage or an in-state office. It also fails the saver who is uneasy signing paperwork before knowing the self-directed custodian's name. A BBB rating of NR, five recent complaints, and undisclosed fees are three separate reasons to slow down and get answers in writing before wiring anything.

When a gold IRA is the wrong move

A gold IRA is not a universal fix, and this section is honest about that. A precious metals IRA is a poor choice when the account balance is small enough that the flat annual fees swallow a large share of returns, typically under 20,000 dollars.

It is also a poor choice when the saver expects to need the money inside five years. Metal prices move on their own cycle, and a forced sale at the wrong point can lock in a loss. Anyone under age 59.5 also faces the 10 percent early distribution penalty on withdrawals not routed through a qualifying exception, per IRS Publication 590-B.

A gold IRA is also not the right vehicle when the saver has not already funded an emergency reserve, cleared high-interest credit debt, or captured any available employer 401(k) match. Those base moves come first. For readers who are not in the right window for a metals IRA at all, the Harry's Coins guide on gold IRA pros and cons walks through the tradeoffs in plain language.

Frequently asked questions

Is Fisher Capital the same company as Fisher Liberty Gold?

On the public record, yes. Fisher Liberty Gold is the primary business name on the Better Business Bureau profile and on Trustpilot. Fisher Capital LLC is listed as the alternate business name on BBB. Both point at the same 9595 Wilshire Blvd address and the same 800-617-5373 phone line, and fishercapitalgroup.com is the website that both platforms link to. Verified July 2026 on bbb.org and trustpilot.com.

What is Fisher Capital's BBB rating?

The rating shown on the BBB profile is NR, or Not Rated. Not Rated is a status BBB uses when the available information does not support a letter grade at the time of check. It is separate from the accreditation field, which shows the business has been accredited since November 15, 2021. Verified July 2026 on bbb.org.

Does Fisher Capital publish a Gold IRA account minimum?

Not on any public page we captured in July 2026. The home page, About page, and Precious Metals IRA page do not name a written minimum. If you request the minimum verbally, get the number in writing before you send funds so it can be verified after the fact.

What fees does Fisher Capital charge on a Gold IRA?

Fisher Capital does not publish setup fees, annual custodian fees, or annual storage and insurance fees on its public site as of the July 2026 check. Every Gold IRA carries these four cost lines: setup, annual custodian, annual storage, and dealer spread on the coins purchased. Ask for each of the four in writing before signing.

Which self-directed IRA custodian does Fisher Capital use?

The public pages do not name the self-directed IRA custodian. In a precious metals IRA, the custodian is a separate legal party from the dealer under IRC 408(a)(2). Ask for the custodian's name in writing, then look up its BBB record and its published fee schedule before you sign the custodial agreement.

Does Fisher Capital have a Texas office or use the Texas Bullion Depository?

Not disclosed on any public page we captured. Fisher Capital's listed offices are in Beverly Hills, CA, and Century City, CA. Neither the home page nor the Precious Metals IRA page mentions Texas storage or the state-owned Texas Bullion Depository in Leander. Ask directly whether Fisher Capital can route metal to a Texas depository if in-state storage matters to you.

How many complaints does Fisher Capital have on BBB?

The BBB profile shows 6 closed complaints in the past three years, with 5 of those closed in the past twelve months. The customer review pool on BBB is 5 reviews at a 2 out of 5 average. Verified July 2026 on bbb.org. Trustpilot does not track complaints and shows 183 reviews at a 4.6 trust score for the same business.

Is Fisher Capital registered with the SEC or the CFTC?

A search of SEC EDGAR full-text index returns no filings for Fisher Capital LLC or Fisher Liberty Gold as of July 2026. The CFTC BASIC registration lookup does not return a match either. A pure physical bullion dealer that sells for cash or IRA delivery is not required to register with either agency, so a no-match result on its own is not proof of good or bad standing.

Should a Texas retiree use Fisher Capital?

It depends on how much you value written published fees and in-state storage. Fisher Capital has no Texas footprint and no published Texas Bullion Depository partnership on the public record. A Texas retiree who wants a written fee schedule before the first call, or who wants metal held inside the state, will find better fits on the Harry's Coins Texas dealer shortlist. Fisher Capital is workable only if you plan to get every number in writing on the sales call.
